Dear Friends of Commonwealth Shakespeare Company,
In light of current developments, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the 2020 CSC gala, scheduled for March 28th. Like so many of our fellow arts organizations, we will comply with Governor Baker’s directive to limit large-scale events in order to keep our community safe.
The annual CSC gala has become a signature event in Boston, bringing our lively community of artists together with loyal supporters to raise critical funds for our programs, in particular free Shakespeare on the Common. Please stay with us while we explore alternate dates and formats – we promise to keep you informed as plans progress.
For those of you who have purchased 2020 CSC Gala tickets and/or tables, we ask that you remain patient while we explore our options – all tickets will be transferable to the new date. If we are unable to reschedule or if you cannot make the new date, we hope that you will consider converting your purchase into a gift in support of our programs.
Sincerely,
Erin Coffey
Director of Development
Please join Commonwealth Shakespeare Company in celebrating co-founder Joan Moynagh, and her commitment to access and education. The event will highlight performances from our actors and raise money for our education initiatives, as well as our summer production of Free Shakespeare on the Common. Attire: Creative black tie.

How much are tickets? How can I buy them? Can I buy tickets at the door?
Tickets cost $500 each. You may mail us a check: Commonwealth Shakespeare Company, 101 Arch Street, 8th floor, Boston, MA 02110. Please note “gala ticket” in the memo line of your check; or purchase tickets online via credit card. Tickets are not sold at the door. If you have any questions, please call 617-426-0863.
Will I receive an actual ticket?
No, your name will be on the RSVP list at check-in, and you will receive your dinner seating assignment then.
I am planning to attend, but I have special dietary needs. Can they be accommodated?
Yes! Please notify us by calling 617-426-0863. With advance notice, the hotel is able to accommodate all special dietary requests.
What should I wear? What does creative black tie mean?
While plenty of people like to take the opportunity to dress up and wear a formal gown or tuxedo, we invite guests to push the boundaries and break out of the box. This is your chance to embrace a formal foundation while exploring your own unique style!
What is the purpose of the gala? Why are you raising money?
Proceeds from the evening will help fund CSC’s education and theatre training programs.
Thank you! You may make a donation via the gala website HERE or you may send a check to Attn: Erin Coffey, Commonwealth Shakespeare Company, 101 Arch Street, 8th floor, Boston, MA 02110. Please note “gala donation” in the memo line of your check.
