Efren Delgadillo Jr.

Scenic Designer

Born and raised in East LA. His work as a scenic designer has been recognized across the United States and Europe. Has designed with notable companies such as Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Arizona Theatre Company, South Coast Rep, Woolly Mammoth, Pasadena Playhouse, Denver Center for the Performing Arts, The Acting Company, BAM Harvey, The Getty Villa, CalArts’ Center for New Performance, Boston Court, Mixed Blood and Hartford Stage. He also collaborated with many directors and artists including Nataki Garrett, Christopher Acebo, Dámaso Rodriguez, Diane Rodriguez, Jessica Kubzansky, Karin Coonrod, Melanie Joseph, Casey Biggs, Mark Valdez, Michael Michetti, Larry Biederman, Jonathan Walters, Jesse Bonnell, Travis Preston, Culture Clash, Thaddeus Phillips and Carl Hancock Rux. His international work includes Laude in Urbis in Italy, Moonshine & Peepshow at the Edinburgh Festival and Flamingo/Winnebago in Novi Sad, Serbia.  Efren is a graduate of the University of California Irvine with a BFA in Studio Arts and holds an MFA from California Institute of the Arts in Scenic Design.  In 2010, Efren joined Poor Dog Group as Resident Designer. His designs with Poor Dog Group include Brewsie and Willie, Satyr Atlas, Dionysia, The Internationalist, Murder Ballad, Five Small Fires and Group Therapy.  Efren is an Assistant Professor of Scenic Design at UC Irvine.
