Join the Founder’s Circle and Launch a Legacy of Magic

“‘A Christmas Carol’ is an iconic story. Just like the canon of Shakespeare, Dickens’s work is seminal, and this piece is such an extraordinary vision of how to live your life, how you engage in the world, how you care for others and support your community…From a storytelling point of view, it’s the perfect story for CSC to tell.”This holiday season, join us and lay the foundation for a new Boston theatrical tradition. Led by generous investments from Commonwealth Shakespeare Company board members Christy and Jay Cashman and Susan and Bill Poduska, the Founder’s Circle for Charles Dickens’ ‘A Christmas Carol’ gathers together Boston’s dedicated arts patrons to leave a legacy for generations of theatergoers.

Since 1996, CSC has been a cultural anchor in Boston with its iconic annual program, Free Shakespeare on the Common. With decades of experience in providing high-quality, accessible theater to the community, CSC is now embarking on its most ambitious project yet: Charles Dickens’ ‘A Christmas Carol,’ a magical, musical adaptation of a classic tale that will play annually in downtown Boston’s Emerson Cutler Majestic Theatre.

This magical, family-friendly production offers an entry point to the experience of theater and live performance, just as Shakespeare on the Common has for recent generations of arts lovers. With this production, CSC furthers our mission of bringing community together through outstanding art, while building financial sustainability to support Shakespeare on the Common for generations to come.

We invite you to leave your mark on Boston’s holiday season with a founding gift of $2,500 or more. Founders of Charles Dickens’ ‘A Christmas Carol’ will be recognized in perpetuity, and enjoy founding festivities in 2024 such as complimentary seats for the production’s inaugural run and celebrating with the launch party and Opening Night Toast.

Join us this fall in founding a tradition that will enchant Boston families and theatergoers, and leave a lasting legacy of joy and artistic excellence.
