Cast Bios

Tess Brenner

Tess Brenner Tess is a soon to be senior at the Boston Conservatory. At the Conservatory Tess has appeared in Machinal, Hair, Gypsy Stripped, and The Rocky Horror Show. Her Boston credits include Hamlet with the Ganemeed Theater Project and Seussical the Musical at Wheelock Family Theater. She couldn’t have imagined anything more spectacular than spending the summer submerged in Shakespeare with CSC. Tess would like to thank her teachers for the continuous inspiration and her family for their unconditional love and support.


Andrew Kluger

Andrew Kluger Andrew is thrilled to be making his Commonwealth debut with this production of Othello. Past credits include: Kiss Me, Kate (Fred/ Petruchio), Into the Woods (Rapunzel’s Prince), Once Upon a Mattress (Harry), The Visit (Anton Schill), The Pajama Game (Sid), A Devil Inside (Brad), Guys and Dolls (Sky Masterson), and Plaza Suite (Sam.) He is currently studying acting, singing, and directing at Tufts University, where he is a proud member of The Beelzebubs. Andrew also studied theater at the Pennsylvania Governor’s School for the Arts. He would like to thank his teachers, family, and friends for their support.


Charlotte Foster

Charlotte Foster Charlotte Foster is proud to be a Commonwealth Shakespeare Company Apprentice this summer! She will be a senior in the fall in SUNY Fredonia's BFA acting program. Previous roles include Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, Claire in Fuddy Meers, and a Patient in Marat/Sade. Charlotte is very excited for this summer, and wants to thank her teachers and everyone involved at CSC for nurturing and strengthening her passion for Shakespeare!


Michael Underhill

Michael UnderhillMichael Underhill is excited to be joining CSC for the inaugural Summer Academy Apprenticeship Program. A recent graduate from Northeastern University, and a former Summer Training Institute student at Shakespeare & Company, Michael is also a company member with Imaginary Beasts, playing Mercury and Leandre in Moliere Squared, the Moon, Sun, & Woodcutter in Dream of Life, and Bilora in Weasel. Other favorite roles include John in Bash with Theatre on Fire, Orlando in As You Like It with Cloud Island Theater Company and the Moon in Blood Wedding and Abhorson in Measure for Measure at Northeastern University. Thanks to all his family and friends who continue to support him on his journey.


Eliza Earle

Eliza Earle Eliza Earle is thrilled to be working with the Commonwealth Shakespeare Co. as an Apprentice this summer. She is currently studying Drama at Tufts University where she has appeared in Six Characters in Search of an Author, Kiss Me, Kate, and The Love of Don Perlimplin and Belisa in the Garden. This year Eliza won the National Youth Theater award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Musical for her role as Snoopy in You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown. In the fall, she will be attending the O’Neill National Theater Institute. Eliza couldn’t think of a better way to spend her summer and would like to thank CSC and her teachers for this wonderful program, as well as her family and friends for their ongoing love and support.


Lydia Barnett-Mulligan

Lydia Barnett-Bulligan Lydia is delighted to be working with CSC. She most recently appeared as Cecile in Tina Packer’s production of Les Liaisons Dangereuses at Shakespeare & Company, where other credits include Twelfth Night, Ice Glen, The Servant of Two Masters, and The Tamer Tamed. Other regional roles include Juliet in Romeo & Juliet (Stratford Summer Arts Festival), Monica in The Physicists (Williamstown Theatre Festival), and Laura in Xingu (The Salon at The Mount). Directing credits include King John, The Tempest, and Someone Who’ll Watch Over Me, all at Williams College.


Eric Sirakian

Eric Sirakian Eric Sirakian recently graduated from Phillips Academy in Andover, MA. His favorite roles have included Tom in The Glass Menagerie, Peter in The Diary of Anne Frank, Lysander in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Officer Barrel in Urinetown. He will study for one year at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts before attending Yale University.

Shakespeare On Love, first presented as part of Boston's First Night, is a selection of pieces blending speeches, sonnets, scenes and songs inspired by Shakespeare into a joyful celebration of language and love. Performed by some of Boston's finest up-and-coming actors and directed by Founding Artistic Director Steven Maler and restaged this summer by Ryan Maxwell, the performance is sure to delight audiences of all ages.

As part of Commonwealth Shakespeare Company's educational outreach program, Shakespeare On Love will be touring several local parks to encourage youth and families to discover the beauty of Shakespeare's work and the magic of live theater.
