Panelist. Professor Tuerck is Chairman and Professor of Economics and Executive Director of the Beacon Hill Institute for Public Policy Research at Suffolk University in Boston. He has over four decades of experience in teaching and research, including serving as a member of the senior staff at the American Enterprise Institute and as a director in the Economic Consulting Group at Coopers & Lybrand in Washington, DC. An authority on tax and labor policy issues, he has published numerous books and articles, made more than 100 television and radio appearances and published dozens of opinion editorials. He has appeared before legislative committees in several states and, on multiple occasions, in Massachusetts. On the national stage, he has testified before subcommittees of the Senate Labor and Human Resources Committee and the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform and, most recently, the House Committee on Ways and Means. He is listed in Who’s Who in America and served as president of the North American Economics and Finance Association. He received his PhD in Economics from the University of Virginia.
